Turning Dreams Into Reality Takes Practice

As a Life and Law of Attraction Coach, I am constantly trying to get better at the magic of turning my intentions and dreams into everyday, here and now, reality and then sharing what I learn.

One thing I’ve learned about building your manifestation muscles so they are strong and reliable and flexible is to use them on a regular basis. When we go to the gym, a trainer will start us off on light weights with frequent repetitions, rather than have us strain ourselves and risk injury (and failure) by lifting heavy dumbbells.
Slow build-up and frequent reps allow you to move up the weight scale as you get stronger and more confident and allow you to choose which programs will get you the results you seek (think Arnold Schwarzenegger or Madonna).

The same holds true of manifesting your dreams and welcoming the appearance of our desires into our lives.
If we start with the big dreams—our million-dollar bank accounts, new home, true love, great job, world peace, end to crime in the V.I.—we may get discouraged.

Many people who saw the movie "The Secret" got very jazzed about our natural ability to be deliberate creators and started picturing what they wanted: creating vision boards and then sitting back and waiting – only to be sitting and waiting months later, disappointed and convinced that the Law of Attraction doesn’t work.

Part of this may be that "The Secret" didn’t place enough emphasis on action – inspired action, as I like to call it.
The other part has to do with thinking that we have to start big and that all the smaller moments that make up our bigger lives don’t count.

Nothing could be further from the truth. It all counts and the simpler, smaller dreams are the perfect place to put in our practice time and build up those muscles.

Here are a few examples to get you going and prime your manifestation pump. When I am driving along the road and am stuck behind a particularly slow driver I play a game. I say, “Wouldn’t it be lovely if they turned down the Ag station road or turned down Solberg at 4 Corners, or down Barrett Hill …” – clearing the way for speedy me to proceed apace.

I haven’t kept count to provide the percentage of times it works but when it does, it’s 100 percent. I always say, “Thank-you universe” and “See, it works” and “What a magnificent manifestor I am.” And then I smile.

The other day I was talking to a friend about hot water heaters and installing timers to save costs. I mentioned that I planned on cleaning out my under-the-sink cupboard, installing a timer and raising the temperature of the water, which is frequently luke warm. The next morning when I showered the water was really hot. I had not gotten around to doing anything I’d said and had no idea what caused the water to heat up. I chose to see it as a manifestation of my desire and said, “Thank-you universe” and “See, it works” and “What a magnificent manifestor I am,” as the hot water soothed my sore back.

I read a post on Facebook from a friend who said she’d gone to the beach and before snorkeling said, “Wouldn’t it be nice to see a manta ray today.” And she did. Smile. Thank you. Magnificent Manifestor.

The Law of Attraction says it’s as easy to create a castle as a button. We can get intimidated by the BIG STUFF. Our fears and insecurities and limiting beliefs get in the way. We’re not as attached to the buttons or the driver turning, the hot water or the manta ray. We’re not as needy or desperate or "got-to-have-it" – all of which create a certain drag in our manifestation success rate.

Try it. Picture something that would be nice, that you would like and say, “Wouldn’t it be nice if (fill in the blank)" and see what happens. The more you do this – lifting baby weights with many reps, the sooner you’ll be hefting those manifestation dumbbells and creating big success in all areas of your life.
