Witnesses Hold Convention to Examine Attitudes Toward God

0

In a climate of conflicting attitudes toward God, how can the faithful withstand constant attacks on their belief in God? What evidence about God’s existence is there for nonbelievers to examine? Intriguing answers to these questions will be explored during the Witnesses’ 2010 "Remain Close to Jehovah!" District Convention to be held at the Frenchman’s Reef Hotel from Aug.6- 8. From Aug. 13-15, the same program will be presented in Spanish at the Mark Marin Center at Antilles School.

Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that a strong relationship with God is vital for spiritual well-being and personal happiness. Starting this weekend, and continuing for the next couple of weeks, Jehovah’s Witnesses will extend a personal invitation to everyone from St. Croix, St. Thomas, St. John, Water Island and Tortola to attend the convention. Strengthening one’s spirituality will be the focus of the program. Admission to the convention is free and no collections will be taken. All four local congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses will be supporting the activity of distributing attractively printed invitations to the convention. An estimated 1,300 will attend the successive weekend programs. Throughout the area, including Puerto Rico, there will be over 15 conventions. Worldwide there are over 7,300,000 Witnesses in more than 105,000 congregations.
