Banco Popular and the Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority (VIHFA) have joined forces in celebration of National Home Ownership Month to host the 2011 Housing Expo this coming Saturday at the Sunshine Mall on St. Croix.
Kurt Schindler, certified financial planner and head of Popular financial educational program Your Finances, will offer a workshop on financial preparedness, providing essential tips on budgeting and saving, building and maintaining a good credit score in regards to home ownership and how to qualify for a mortgage.
A team of mortgage representatives headed by Assistant Vice-President and Popular Mortgage Manager Rosalyn Webster will be on site to offer consultations, provide information and answer basic questions regarding home ownership and the variety of products available to help the residents of Virgin Island achieve a home ownership.
Banco Popular is expected to open a new branch at the Sunshine Mall before the end of the year.
The housing expo is intended to make information available on various aspects of financing a new home. It will also provide how to workshops and informational sessions throughout the event on: purchasing and financing a home, energy efficiency/green building and home maintenance.
