In Bolongo Bay another positive alternative for the young people of St. Thomas has emerged. A brand new recreational area will be dedicated and officially opened by the Agape Seventh-day Adventist Church congregation at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2. Following the dedication service, the recreational play area — complete with a full basketball court and volleyball court, along with a play set area for the younger children — will be officially opened as a drug free and violence free zone for the public’s use.
Among the invited guests who have confirmed their attendance are Sen. Janette Millin-Young, who will be the guest speaker for the dedication service, Police Commissioner Henry A. White, Housing, Parks, and Recreation Assistant Commissioner Stanley Smith and St. Thomas Police Chief Darren Foy. The St. Thomas Police Cadets will also be on hand to make a special presentation. Trent Berg, the pastor of the Agape congregation said, “it has been a labor of love by this congregation.”
