Caneel Bay, A Rosewood Resort, Opens “Honeymoon Hut” in Partnership with V.I. Ecotours

Caneel Bay, A Rosewood Resort on St. John, has partnered with (http://www.viecotours.com) Virgin Islands Ecotours to launch the new Honeymoon Beach Hut. Located near Honeymoon Beach, it will be an amenity for resort guests and visiting public to enjoy watersports and eco-adventure excursions from the beautiful beaches of Caneel Bay. The Honeymoon Hut was once a storage space, though it has been standing, unused, for more than 30 years. Virgin Islands Ecotours will now offer access to watersports equipment, while guests can enjoy peace and quiet on Honeymoon Beach.

For those that want to take advantage of the outdoor recreation, stand-up paddleboards, kayaks and beach floats are available for rent on calm Caribbean waters, as are beach chairs, underwater cameras and a locker with key for personal items. The hut also has a handy "Forgot It Shop" with T-shirts, sunscreen, beach hats, water shoes, bottled water and snacks for purchase.

Guests looking to embark on an adventure with Virgin Island Ecotours can try one of the eco-excursions, such as three-hour kayak, hike and snorkel adventures around Caneel Bay or Henley Cay for $89 per person, and a three-hour St. John eco hike and snorkel at Link Point for $59 per person.

"I am very excited to be working with Caneel Bay on the Honeymoon Hut. It is a one-of-a-kind amenity that appeals to all ages and, combined with our adventures, a great way for families and small groups to learn about the extensive eco-system of the Virgin Islands," said Sybille Sorrentino, who owns Virgin Island Ecotours, founded in 1996.

Added Nikolay Hotze, managing director of Caneel Bay: "We are really pleased to have Sybille expanding her operation at the resort. Virgin Island Ecotours excursions have always been popular with our guests, and the Honeymoon Hut will enhance the Honeymoon Beach experience for guests and day visitors alike."

The Honeymoon Hut is available year-round from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily for resort guests and day visitors to Caneel Bay. All-day passes for day visitors to Honeymoon Beach are $49 per person.
