The Office of Veterans Affairs of the U.S. Virgin Islands in coordination with the Department of Veterans Affairs will celebrate two welcome home events at St. Thomas and St. Croix respectively.
The welcome home event on St. Thomas will take place on Sept. 29 at the Leonard B. Francis Readiness Center. The event on St. Croix will take place on Oct. 6 at the Canegata Multipurpose Recreation Center.
The purpose of these welcome home appreciation events is to honor U.S. military service members by providing important information about benefits and programs available to them.
“Honoring those who served is a moral obligation; these welcome home events provide the opportunity to the community to show appreciation to service members and their families for their sacrifice in defending our freedom and values,” said Morris Moorhead, director of the Office of Veterans Affairs U.S.V.I.
