V.I. National Park Runs Summer Youth Conservation Corp Program

0

Virgin Islands National Park will host its Annual Youth Conservation Corp (YCC) program again this summer. The YCC program provides an opportunity for youths to be employed for a six-week period while gaining an understanding and appreciation about the conservation mission for the National Park Service.
The program will employ 16 participants, who will be involved in a variety of duties associated with park operations. They will earn $7.25 an hour.
The program will begin on June 24 and end on Aug. 2. Applicants must be 15-18 years of age and a U.S. citizen or have permanent residency status.
Interested youths may pick up an application at the National Park Visitor Center in Cruz Bay between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. beginning June 6, which must be returned by June 13. Selections will be made by random drawing.
For more information, contact Vanessa Taliaferro-Robinson, administrative officer, at 776-6201, ext. 260 or Jean-Louis Williams, maintenance mechanic supervisor, at 693-8989, ext. 22.
