Jamelah Adolphine from St. Thomas could be the next Voice of McDonald’s. The Voice of McDonald’s competition is a worldwide, employee singing contest, showcasing the talents of McDonald’s crew and managers. Adolphine, a crew member at the Lockhart McDonald’s, has been selected to represent the USVI for the fourth edition of the Voice of McDonald’s competition. She is in Puerto Rico this week competing in the Caribbean Region finale. There, she will have the opportunity to showcase her talent with other competitors in the Caribbean for a chance to be selected as a finalist from the region.
In addition to receiving cash prizes, the finalists of the Caribbean Region will travel to Bogota, Colombia, to represent their territory in a Caribbean Division finale. After this stage of the competition, the candidates chosen to advance to the next round will compete in the Latin American finale. Four candidates selected as semifinalists from the Latin American Finale will qualify for the global competition to be held in Orlando, Florida, in 2014 where the public will have the opportunity to cast votes on who will be the next Voice of McDonald’s.
“McDonald’s is committed to the professional and personal development of its employees, and for that reason, initiatives and programs are created to encourage them to do the activities they enjoy in their free time. In this case, it is very special because the talent of our employees allows us to come together through the universal language of music,” said Mildred Quiles, market manager for McDonald’s USVI. “All of us here in the USVI will all be cheering for Jamelah as she competes.”
