Sea Glass Properties, the second largest real estate agency on St. Thomas, has announced it has acquired through a merger the foremost real estate company on St. John, Islandia. The company comes to the table with more than $116,000,000. in active listings, bringing the Sea Glass portfolio of properties to more than $210,000,000. With $47 million in combined sales between the two companies last year, Sea Glass is poised to become the leading sales agency in the U.S.V.I.
In addition, this merger means Sea Glass now has physical offices on all three of the Virgin Islands in locations within walking distance of major tourist destinations – Yacht Haven Grande, Christiansted and Cruz Bay. That positioning gives Sea Glass more exposure for its brand and its listings.
Sea Glass, which was founded in 2007 by Kerstin McConnell and co-owned by Nick Van Assche, is eager to share its innovative marketing and Internet prowess with Islandia, which was founded some 40 years ago. The St. John sales team of Merry Nash, Lynn Giovanna, Marty Beechler and Jane Kelly join more than 20 Sea Glass sales agents and staff, giving the firm more depth than any other U.S. Virgin Islands real estate company.
