Funeral Service to be Tuesday for Mother and Child

May 20, 2004 – A funeral service for Baby Thai L. Carrillo, 2 months old, and his mother 31-year-old Natasha Lesley Cummings, is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Royal Deliverance Tabernacle Church, Estate Beeston Hill. Thai and his mother were shot and killed May 15 at Cummings' residence.
A candle light vigil will be held at the Central High School parking lot at 6 p.m. Friday. Participants are asked to wear happy colors.
Thai and Natasha are survived by Natasha's mother and father Leitha E. Cummings and Venice E. Cummings; Natasha's brothers, Thai's uncles: Venice E. Cummings Jr., and Ronald Rogers; Natasha's sisters, Thai's aunts: Natalie A. McDonald and Allison Cummings Swain. Natasha and Thai are also survived by Natasha's son, Thai's brother, 4-year-old Nikolai Carrillo.
Natasha is survived by nieces Courtney McDonald, Sydney Swain and Leanne Rogers; nephews Desmon McDonald, Eric Swain Jr. and Nicholas Swain; aunts Iris Miguel, Patsy Cummings, Constance Weeks, Henrietta LaFoucade, Annella Cummings and Helen Thomas; uncles Leslie Cummings and Ellis Cummings; god parents; Loran and Edward Dave and Christopher Worrell; Brothers-in-law Kenneth McDonald and Daniel Swain Sr., close friends Emma Miller, Jackie Thomas, Cordia Smith, Zena Wilkins, Laura Cave and Marquida Webster and many other friends.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Nikolai T. Carrillo Education Fund, P.O. Box 5838, Sunny Isle, St. Croix, VI 00823.
