Oct. 29, 2003 — Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, for John Hopkins of Oswald Harris Court, who died at his residence Oct. 24 at the age of 79.
There will be viewing from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel, and another from 10 to 11 a.m., preceding the service, at Wesley Methodist Church. Burial will be in Western Cemetery No. 3.
Hopkins is survived by his life partner, Deloris Hopkins; sons, Rupurte Hopkins, Royston Hopkins, Jesse Hopkins, Glenroy Hopkins; daughters, Viola Liburd, Margett Liburd, June Liburd, Loretta Hendrickson, Heather Hopkins; stepchildren, Mervin Woodley and Deliah Rubaine; many grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Dwight Hendrickson; daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Hopkins; brothers-in law, Robert Woodley, Leonard Rouse, Moses Woodley, Cedric Rouse and Aston Rouse; sisters-in-law, May Brown, Ruthan Rouse, Ionie Woodley and Loreen Goring; sister, Sophia Phipps; special friends, Donald Smith and Patrick Antonio; close relatives, Bernadette Liburd, Culbert Francis, Naomi Lewis, Denise Smith, Jennifer Allen, and Judith Smith; and other relatives and friends.
