April 17, 2003 The Trans-Caribbean Dairy Corp., better known as St. Thomas Dairies, has developed and manufactured a new product, Go Soy, that is currently being produced and distributed by Archer Daniels Midland Co. Go Soy is 100 percent organic soy milk and offers consumers a healthy alternative do traditional beverages.
"We are very excited about this new product," Priscilla Hintz, Trans-Caribbean Dairy's director of marketing and public relations, said. "We are able to unite the strength of our operations and manufacturing capabilities here in St. Thomas with the quality ingredients and technology that ADM provides to bring local consumers an excellent, nutritional beverage."
Trans-Caribbean Dairy Corp. is a 100 percent locally owned company that manufactures and distributes fresh dairy products and juices. The company employs 52 long-term Virgin Islands residents. St. Thomas Dairies was founded by Ephirm and Courtney Adkins in 1963 and was acquired by Dean Food Company in 1979. On March 7, 1996 Trans-Caribbean Dairy Corp. purchased the assets of St. Thomas Dairies Inc.
