Aug. 22, 2002 – The V.I. Institute of Performing Arts will be conducting fall registration at the school, on the following days:
— Aug. 19-23, 1-5 p.m.
— Aug. 24, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
— Aug. 26-30, 3-6 p.m.
— Aug. 31, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
The Institute's goal is to provide St. Thomas youth with professional training and a curriculum that exposes children to the beauty and discipline of the performing arts, according to a release.
Classes are offered in cultural dance, flamenco dance, hip hop, jazz, ballet, tap, piano, gymnastics, and tai chi. The fall semester begins on Monday, September 3, 2002. Classes are offered after school from 3:30 to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The Institute is located in downtown St. Thomas, near Local Bodies in the walkway next to the Spenceley Building which formerly housed Vitelco.
