The Virgin Islands is joining in the international "Relay for Life," a series of events honoring cancer survivors and lost ones and raising funds to get and keep the information out there for everyone. The 24 hours is celebrated at the Charlotte Amalie High School track, with set-up and information activities from 2:30 p.m. Saturday a formal opening at 6 p.m., survivors' walk at 6:30 p.m., and relay teams starting to walk at 6:45 p.m. and continuing until 11 a.m. Sunday – that's more than 16 hours of walking!
Sign yourself up or get a team of 12-15 people together and register with Therese Hodge at 775-6373.
St. Croix, get a couple teams together and come on over and spend the day and night – and warm up for your own "Relay for Life," which is planned for October 13-14.
See the article in Source's Community/ Other Stuff, or call American Cancer Society St. Thomas unit 775-5373; St. Croix unit 778-2882.
