Summer Session Registration Underway
Summer Session 2002 classes at the University of the Virgin Islands begin on
Monday, June 10, and continue through July 23. UVI's summer and fall class schedules are available on-line at cac.uvi.edu/sched/su2002/tindex.html.
Summer session registration on St. Thomas continues from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Sports and Fitness Center. Late registration on St. Thomas is scheduled for Monday, June 10. Printed class schedules are available at the Registrar's Office in the CA Building. For information call 693-1160.
Summer Session registration on St. Croix continues Friday in the Academic Services Office in Evans Center Room 811. On St. Croix, late registration is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, June 10-11, in the Academic Services Office. Printed class schedules are available in the Academic Services Office. For information call 692-4158.
CES Offers Summer Camp Program
Registration is under way, on a first come, first served basis, for the summer camp program sponsored by UVI's Cooperative Extension Service. Camp sessions are scheduled from June 24 through Aug. 2, with locations at local schools on St. Croix, St. Thomas and St. John, and at the UVI campus on St. Croix.
Children ages 5 through 14 are eligible. A 50 percent discount is available to employees of UVI. Spaces remain available on St. Croix. Register there at the UVI Research and Extension Center, Room 139 or call 692-4094 or 692-4087 for details. Although program spaces are already filled on St. Thomas and St. John, a waiting list is being kept if openings develop. For information call the Extension Service at 693-1080.
Urban Forestry Conference Begins Sunday
The future of trees in the Caribbean is the subject of a weeklong conference on urban forestry beginning Sunday, June 9, at Marriott's Frenchman's Reef Resort on St. Thomas. UVI's Cooperative Extension Service is coordinating the conference. Some 150 foresters from the Caribbean and the U.S. are expected to attend. "For Better, For Worse" Opens June 7
If you're in need of a good laugh, don't miss the Caribbean Repertory Theatre Company's revival of David Edgecombe's comedy "For Better, For Worse." The play's public run opens this weekend, with performances on Friday, Saturday and Monday, June 7, June 8 and June 10, respectively. Curtain time is 8 p.m. Fifteen performances are scheduled through July 1 in the UVI Little Theatre on the St. Thomas campus. Tickets are $15, and can be purchased on campus at the Reichhold Box Office (693-1559) and the UVI Bookstore, on St. Thomas at Krystal Gifts Galore, Modern Music and Parrot Fish, and on St. John at Connections.
