May 23, 2002 Due to a computer problem, the Justice Department will be late mailing out checks, including those for child support.
A news release from Attorney General Iver A. Stridiron and Regina de Chabert, who serves as director of the Paternity and Child Support Division, indicates they expect to have them out by the close of business on Tuesday.
The division plans to work through the Memorial Day weekend to process the payments.
Stridiron and de Chabert said in the release that they are taking steps to resolve the problem.
