CHAMBER TO HOST SEMINAR ON CRISIS AND CHANGE

0

Jan. 19, 2002 – The St. Thomas-St. John Chamber of Commerce will host a professional development seminar consisting of two half-day sessions on Friday.
The seminar, to be led by Russell Grieger and Tom Tyne of Caribbean Organizational Consulting Associates, is on "Building the Bridge to Leadership Excellence: Taking Charge in Times of Crisis and Change."
The sessions will explore how leaders and staff can work together in a crisis situation, and then plan for future major and minor dilemmas that may threaten professional or personal lives.
The morning session, from 9 a.m. to noon, will focus on overcoming crisis within an organization; the afternoon session, from 1 to 4 p.m., is on taking charge of oneself and the organization to move it forward productively and deal with the future.
The seminar is open to Chamber members and nonmembers from the public and private sectors. While participants may attend a single session, maximum benefit will be gained by joining in both, according to a chamber release.
The cost for members is $40 for each half-day workshop and $70 for both. For nonmembers, it's $50 for a half day and $80 for the full day. If a company or agency registers three or more employees, the price drops 10 percent. Call 776-0100 to register. Past seminars have filled up quickly, the release notes.
This will be the first of four professional development presentations by Grieger and Tyne that the chamber will sponsor this year, according to the release.
