May 18, 2001 The All Saints Cathedral School family came together Friday to celebrate their annual May Fair. It was an event with many activities throughout the day that relate to different cultures. Celebrated were the French culture, East Indian culture, American culture, and Caribbean traditions.
Each class had to participate in some way whether it was dancing, singing, poetry, or a display. The fair offers an opportunity for different classes to raise money for their class accounts. Besides money it also offers the chance to display talents that fellow schoolmates may have never seen. And students spend time together in a safe place doing positive things. A lot of hard work has been put into making this fair what it was by both teachers and students.
There was also another event along with the May Fair, the Science Fair. This was a time for every student or group of students to present their science projects, some for a grade and some just for fun.
A few students got very technical and made projects that required movement and safety, while other projects were easily displayed on big poster board.
The students who made the projects learned new information about their topic, and students who came to the see the projects on display had much fun learning something new, too.
Teachers, students, parents, and friends seemed to have a great time despite the heat.
The entertainment was excellent, the food was high class and delicious with much variety, and enough activities and learning experiences were offered to keep anyone busy. May Fair 2001 is one to remember.
