Venerita Brunstorff-Bastian, known to her friends as "Auntie Ven" or "Ms. Ven," of #10 Hospital Street, died Monday, Feb. 26 at Manhattan Nursing Care Center, Bronx, New York. She was 82.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 7 at the Lord God of Sabaoth Lutheran Church. A viewing will precede the service beginning at 8 a.m.
Interment will follow at Christiansted Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter, Esterlina McDuffie-King; grandson, Robert McDuffie; great- grandson, Jordin McDuffie; sisters, Lenoda Brunstorff-Lynch and Antilina Brunstorff-Peters; brother, Selwyn Gautier; special nieces, Lavern Bates, Wilma Abramson, Lorrain Gerard-Solratti, Angelina Gautier, Lorraine Wenner, Beverly Williams, Iris Woodley, Eleanor Best, Janet Farrell- Nicholas, Rita Brunstorff, Emelda Sawauw, and Sandra Bastian-Carty; special nephews, Shurne Horton, Lariel Gerard, Delroy Bates, and Wilbert Wenner; uncle, Donald Benners; and son-in- law, Roy King.
She is also survived stepson, Raymond Bastian; adopted son, Angel "Compie"Encarnacion; daughter-in-law, Annabel Bastian; granddaughter-in-law, Arlene Skeritt-McDuffie; brothers-in- law, James Peters and Henry Bastian; sisters-in-law, Annabel Fenner and Elacia Bastian; special cousins, Cleoda Moorehead and family; special friends, Rosalia Smithen, Encarnacion family, Luz James and family, Claudia Willocks, Danielson family, Anita Moorehead and family, Gloria Cooper, Will Finch and family, Josephine Hector, Beryl Knight, Charles Jackson, Laurencia Richardson, Florine Diaz, Enid Henneman, Maggie Lynch, Dutchelle Drummond, and Jessica Moolenaar and family; along with many other relatives and friends.
