IT'S HARBOUR NIGHT IN FREDERIKSTED

Harbour Night, a Caribbean street festival, will take place 7 p.m.to 12 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31 on on the waterfront at Strand Street in Frederiksted.
This harbour night will include 3500 cruise ship passengers and crew from the Carnival cruise ship Victory.
Harbour Night festivities include steel pan players and mocko jumbies. Local foods, and arts and crafts are for sale.
Entertainment will be provided by Noel, Dem Boys, Liquid Sound, Oreo, The Karamu Afi Dance and Drum Troupe, and Willard John's Mocko Jumbies.
The St. Croix Animal Shelter, The American Red Cross, The Deaf Coalition, and the Boys and Girls Clubs will sponsor non-profit fundraising activities.
"Crucian Fruits," a musical stage production takes place at Fort Frederik during each Harbour Night, with two shows per evening.
The production is an exciting musical that uses song, dance, and dramatic narrative to explore the Crucian culture. Tickets are $24.95. Locals and hotel guests receive a 40% discount. Times vary.
A parking ban will be in effect on Strand Street in Frederiksted between 5 p.m. and midnight. Cars in violation will be towed.
This event is scheduled every two weeks through April 1, 2001.
