DISNEY MAGIC TO MISS 2 ST. THOMAS CALLS IN DEC.

If you live above Charlotte Amalie harbor and didn't hear the familiar tones of "When You Wish Upon A Star" on Wednesday, that's because the Disney Magic did not call on St. Thomas. The Disney Cruises vessel is in dry dock for two weeks.
According to Cruise Industry News, the Disney Magic will be in dry dock for maintenance for two weeks, until Dec. 16. As a result, it will miss two calls on St. Thomas, Dec. 6 and 13. The ship is in dry dock at Norshipco shipyards in Norfolk, Va., the publication said.
Spokesman for the West Indian Co. Ltd., Calvin Wheatley, said it's been known for some time that the ship would miss two calls; WICO's monthly cruise ship schedule does note the Magic's two-week hiatus.
"Its part of a regular schedule of maintenance and overhaul of the vessel," he said. Most ships go through a maintenance regimen at least once every 12 months.
The Disney Magic, registered in the Bahamas, will next call on St. Thomas on Dec. 20. The ship sails from Port Canaveral, Fla., on Saturday, calls on St. Maarten on Tuesday, St. Thomas on Wednesday, and on Friday on Castaway Cay, Disney's own island, before returning to Port Canaveral on Saturday. It remains at sea on Sunday, Monday and Friday.
