The Red Hook Sailing Association announced their first Bilge Rat Regatta. The regatta will be a two-day affair, a race over to Jost Van Dyke on Saturday, Aug.19, followed by a return race on Sunday Aug. 20.
There will be four classes for the race, spinnaker, non-spinnaker, beach cats, or Rat Pack class (open to any seaworthy vessel ). The classes make it possible for serious and not so serious sailors to participate and all are welcome.
The full instructions will be handed out at the skipper's party 7 p.m. Friday Aug. 18 at Latitude 18, Vessup Bay, St.Thomas.
Foxy's Tamarind Bar in Jost van Dyke will host a party on Saturday night. The awards party will be at Latitude 18 Sunday night.
Red Hook Sailing Association members can sail on the association boats for the normal fee of $ 10 per day.
