Downtown Christiansted’s Queens Cross Street will reopen to traffic on Wednesday after almost two years of being closed.
The street, which connects King and Company Streets, has been closed due to the renovation of Government House. While renovations continue at Government House, barricades in the area will be moved closer to the building. Parking will be prohibited to allow for the regular flow of traffic.
"I am delighted to see this portion of Queen Street reopened," said Gov. Charles Turnbull. "It certainly is an indication of the substantial amount of work that has been accomplished on Government House and I look forward to this project winding down…"
