A total of 40 Chinese Nationals were arrested Sunday and released into the custody of the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
The first group of 16 men, sighted at 4:35 a.m. in the vicinity of Emile Griffith ball park, were picked up by police and taken to Richard Callwood Command.
At approximately 6:05 a.m. officers from the Mariel Newton Command arrested 24 more Chinese in the area of Home Town Convenience Store.
All 40 are scheduled to apprear before Magistrate Judge Geoffrey Barnard in U.S. District Court for an initial hearing.
