Dear Editor:
A native Virgin Islander of French descent, I live on the U.S. mainland and avidly read The Source every day for news of home. I especially enjoy reading the articles about French history written by Anne-Marie Danet.
I can assure you that Ms. Danet has a large following in the Virgin Islands, the U.S. mainland, and abroad. Although the French remain a minority in the U.S. Virgin Islands, we do have a voice and that voice must be heard.
Ms. Danet has done a tremendous amount of research in her area of expertise and is extraordinarily well-learned in many areas. The Source is privileged to have a local-born historian as one of its writers, and we the readers are likewise fortunate to benefit from her work and great store of knowledge.
I know that many others share my sentiments. It would seem that there is plenty of room in cyberspace for the writings of both Ms. Danet and Mr. Sekou.
