Gov. Charles W. Turnbull has officially released the names of four nominees to serve on the Historic Preservation Commission on St.Thomas.
If confirmed, the four will serve two-year terms.
In St. Thomas the nominees are:
— Etienne R. Bertrand, succeeding George "Carlito" Kean whose term expired in January 1998.
— Chaneel Callwood-Daniels, succeeding Felipe Ayala Jr. whose term expired in January 1998.
— Mabel J. Maduro to succeed Edith DeJongh Woods whose term expired in January 1998.
— Ruth Moolenaar, succeeding Philip Sturm whose term expired in September 1998.
Bertrand is an architect and a senior vice-president of Lockhart Caribbean Corp.
Daniels, an architectural historian, is a part-time instructor in the pre-engineering program at the University of the Virgin Islands.
Maduro is the executive director for the V.I. Tourism Awareness and Advancement Link known as VITAAL.
Moolenaar, a retired educator, is active in the League of Women Voters and the Law Enforcement Planning Commission advisory board.
The nominees' names have been sent to the Legislature for approval.
