Officials at the Department of Property and Procurement say students at the J. Antonio Jarvis Elementary School Annex will soon have additional recreational space.
Acting Property and Procurement Commissioner Marc Biggs said his department has been diligently working to make this land acquisition, 7.84 acres in the Frenchman's Bay Quarter, a reality.
"Since the situation has been brought to my attention, the department has been progressively moving forward on this important project," he said. "We have already received the results of the title search and are awaiting an updated appraisal report on the property."
Biggs added, "As soon as all mandatory documents are in place, we'll proceed with the closing of the deal."
The project was funded by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Public Finance Authority.
