The Government Employees' Retirement System informs the public that a moratorium on all loans has been instituted effective June 17 to Sept. 30.
This moratorium is required to facilitate the completion of the system's loan-conversion project to be Y2K compliant.
All GERS members and retirees who are eligible and wish to apply for a loan are encuraged to do so on St. Thomas from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
Active employees who are applying for personal loans should bring their last two check stubs and picture I.D.
