Hello. I have a few comments about this year's carnival. Maybe you guys will print (post) it for other people to read. I am very disappointed with the following areas:
The food fair has got to be the worst in years! My family and I bought three plates of conch for $9, took it home and ended up throwing it away because of lack of flavor. The food even tasted spoiled and we don't know who or where to complain! Then a plate of whelks is selling for $20! and a small cup of tamarind stew for $5! The amount of tamarind that you actually get in a cup probably only adds up to about 2 tamarind pods! I could not believe my eyes! Every year I do not look forward to Carnival for these reasons and the thing is that I have spoken to many people who are saying the same things! You know, I am only 28 years old and am not the greatest cook but what ever I can cook is much more tasty! Years ago, the older people knew how to cook food that had flavor and spice. Now it seems that the people of today are cooking with less seasoning and making a killing with the price that they sell for! It's not fair!
It seems that every year the children's rides (Coney Island) that come here are from a third world country! Why is it that every year we get these old run down machines? Its not fair!! I feel that the least they can do is clean the rides and put on fresh paint. The horse carrousel that we have here looks like the one I used to ride when I was a kid! If they can't bring down something better, they shouldn't bring anything at all. I am so upset about this I can'tt even explain in proper words what I would really like to say!
