Oct. 27, 2006 – Vincent Frazer, St. Thomas lawyer and official of the deJongh Francis Campaign, today issued the following statement:
I find it hard to believe, and am sure that others feel the same, that the Donastorg Christian Team has put up all those shiny posters, built their complex at Mandela Circle, opened Headquarters on the other Islands, mailed letters, advertised on radio and TV, and flown themselves back and forth between the Islands, all for less than $80,000.00. Who do they think theyre fooling? The Donastorg Christian financial report filed with the Elections System stating that their campaign from the beginning has operated on less than $80,000.00 is an insult to the process, and an affront to the people. Transparency is a virtue only if it is a window on truth. It is time for Donastorg Christian to tell the truth, and they should start with revised financial statements. Unlike the grandstanding of releasing tax returns which are not required, full disclosure of accurate and timely campaign finances is a legal requirement.
