The Magens Bay Authority, the managing board charged with oversight of Magens Bay, the Virgin Islands most popular destination, announces its search for a new General Manager.
"After twenty-five years of exemplary service, William "Bill" Jowers, our current general manager, is retiring," said Aubrey Nelthropp, Chairman of the Magens Bay Authority. "He has done an excellent job of elevating the beach to its current status as a clean, well-maintained, world-reknown destination. We are now charged with the responsibility of finding someone else to do the job."
The general manager's duties include but are not limited to: supervising the cleanliness, safety, development, preservation, and overall operation of the Magens Bay beach area, adjacent coconut grove, mangrove area, aboretum, bathhouses and rental sheds; supervising all rental franchises; and supervising twenty (20) employees, including administering the payroll system and employee unions.
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, with a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in a related field or area of study, and/or have six (6) years of managerial experience. Knowledge of basic CPR and EMT procedures is required, as well as a working knowledge of construction and facilities maintenance to supervise construction and repairs. Knowledge of the rules and regulations of the Government of the Virgin Islands is a plus.
