June 15, 2006 – Miss Carenage 2006 is Amanda Suzanne Greaux, who was born in Ann Arbor Michigan on June 16, 1988. Shortly after her birth, her parents, Vincent and Donna Greaux, moved to St. Thomas.
Amanda is a strong, well-mannered young lady. She credits the influences of her parents, grandparents, extended family and the community for her strong character and personality.
She has been enrolled in St. Peter and Paul School since kindergarten. During her time there, she served two years as a class officer, was a member of the volleyball team, served as a member of the junior prom committee, served for two years as a member of the yearbook committee, and was selected prom queen last month by her classmates. Amanda is an active member of St. Anne's Chapel where she has served as a lector. She has volunteered at Imperial Animal Hospital and has had a part time job for the last two years.
She was honored by being chosen for "Who's Who Among American High School Students Association" as one of the five percent of America's highest achieving students.
Her plans are to attend Camden College in New Jersey and to eventually study dentistry. She intends to return to St. Thomas and open a private dental practice.
"With God's help, I can only pray that I am able to give back to the community, our community, as much as it has given to me, or even more," Amanda said.
