July 25, 2007 The parents and guardians of special education/needs students who will be participating in the bus transportation program during the 2007-2008 school year are asked to attend a meeting at 9 a.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 1, at the Curriculum Center, according to a press release from the District Superintendent of Schools.
The meeting, which will be hosted by the District's Pupil Transportation Division, will give parents a better understanding of the operations of the division and services offered.
"Based on comments received from many parents, there were enormous improvements made in the service provided by the Division during the 2006-2007 school year, and it is our intent to do even better in the coming year," according to a press release from Insular Superintendent of Schools for the St. Thomas-St. John District Lisa Hassell-Forde.
She continued, "It is imperative that parents attend this meeting as matters of great importance to parents, their child (ren) and the Division of Pupil Transportation will be discussed." She added that the meeting would be the last opportunity for parents to register their children for bus service for the upcoming school year. Parents are further asked to bring with them two recent photographs of their children along with photo identification of themselves as the legal guardian.
