May 29, 2007 — Residents of St. Croix are asked to help resolve the theft of Senate broadcasting equipment from Blue Mountain late last week.
Sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning of last week, someone broke into a storage container on Blue Mountain and made off with one of the modules responsible for carrying Senate meetings between the two island districts, according to a news release from the office of Senate President Usie R. Richards. The equipment is valued at approximately $5,000.
Crucians with information about the theft are asked to contact the Police Department or Richards' office at 712-2320.
"In a day and age where the transparency of the inner workings of government holds true, we all have been victimized by this blatant act," Richards said, according to the news release.
