May 2, 2007 The V.I. Department of Education will pay 100 percent of tuition costs and associated fees for one 3-credit course at the University of the Virgin Islands for the territory's public school teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators and support staff, according to a press release from Education.
All courses offered to paraprofessionals will be at the undergraduate level, while courses offered to teachers and other non-teaching staff can be either at the undergraduate or graduate level. Paraprofessionals must enroll in education courses or other courses leading to an education degree while other non-teaching staff must enroll in a course related to duties they perform at the department.
Due to the limited number of available courses, interested individuals are asked to act quickly as the selections will be made on a first come, first serve basis. Persons are reminded that course textbooks are the responsibility of the individual and reimbursement to the Department will be required in the event of a failed course.
To enroll, visit the Department's Curriculum Center on St. Croix and Division of Human Resource Office on St. Thomas between 8a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, May 3, and Friday, May 11. No phone sign-ups will be allowed.
