Two Romanian gymnasts who won gold medals in the 2004 Athens Olympics will demonstrate their skills in a floor exhibition at 9 a.m., on Monday, Sept. 22, for Antilles School students, faculty and staff in the Mark C. Marin Center.
Catalina Ponor was a triple gold medallist in both the 2004 European Championships and the 2004 Olympics in Athens, capturing first place on balance beam and in floor exercises and as part of the gold medal team. Silvia Stoescu was also part of the gold medal team at the 2004 Olympics.
Ponor and Stoescu will be working with Antilles students in physical education classes during the week, as well as showing their skills on Monday morning.
