July 22, St. Thomas – The Humane Society of St. Thomas will hold a large flea market sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Saturday, July 26, at 26A Nadir. Due to a wealth of donations and limited space, the flea market is overflowing with great bargains that must be sold quickly. Food and drink will also be on sale, along with a Christmas in July sale featuring Christmas items at clearance prices. Clothes will be available for all you-can-stuff-into-a-grocery-bag for only $5!
The Flea Market and Boutique resells items donated by the community. In addition to the wealth of clothes and shoes available, it has furniture, mattresses, household goods, toys and electronics for sale. There are also two cars available for purchase: a 1991 Chevy Lumina and a 1991 Ford Escort. Normal store hours are Wednesdays from 10-11:20 a.m.; Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Sundays from 2-4 p.m. Donations of items in good condition are accepted daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The organization is a non-profit animal shelter dedicated to eliminating cruelty, abuse and the overpopulation of animals. The shelter receives some local funds but heavily relies on the generosity of its donors and the sale of its flea market donations to continue its mission. The new Animal Care Campus is due to open this fall on Weymouth Rhymer Highway, directly across from Market Square East.
