May 20, 2008 – On the morning of Monday, May 12, Issa Barry Dowe-Thomas, the mother of Senator Carlton "Ital" Dowe, passed away. The unexpected loss of "Ms. Issa," as she was affectionately known, has been a tremendous blow to her family, especially coming so soon after Mother's Day.
She will be laid to rest on Tuesday, May 20. Her viewing will begin at 9 a.m., with service at 10 a.m., at the Christchurch Methodist Church in Market Square, followed by her interment at Western Cemetery No. 1.
In observation of our bereavement, the office of Senator Carlton Dowe will be closed on Tuesday, May 20.
Senator Dowe wishes to thank the community for their condolences, expressions of sympathy, cards, telephone calls, words of encouragement and caring support. They have been a source of comfort to both him and his family during this time of sorrow.
