I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Last night on my drive home, I tuned in to NPR just in time to hear Shawntay recite her poem. Her performance literally gave me chills of awe as I listened. As a former resident of St. Thomas, I was thrilled and oh so proud of Shawntay, and grateful to the angel on my shoulder who made sure I tuned in just when I did.
If you’re passing on messages to Shawntay, I hope you’ll pass on this one.
