In celebration of Virgin Islands Denmark Friendship Month, the St. Croix Friends of Denmark Society invites the public to a Danish West Indian Night culinary event that will be held from 5-9 p.m., on Saturday, March 8, at the St. Croix Country Club on the beach just north of Frederiksted.
The evening will feature a large selection of Danish-style dishes with West Indian adaptations prepared by local cooks and restaurants. A brief discourse on the history of Danish West Indian cuisine and an opportunity to learn more about the cultural influence of Denmark on the islands are part of the program. In addition to the buffet dinner, the evening will feature musical entertainment and a cash bar.
Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at Hotel Caravelle, Christiansted, UnderCover Books in Gallows Bay, Frederiksted Hotel and Cottages by the Sea in Frederiksted. For information, call 773-7017.
