Jan. 16, 2008 — The water service to St. Croix customers west of the Estate Sion Farm entrance along Queen Mary Highway will be interrupted from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, according to the V.I. Water and Power Authority (WAPA).
Water technicians will install a meter on the main water line west of the Sion Farm intersection, according to a WAPA news release. Areas that will be affected include the Sunny Isle Shopping Center and the adjacent senior citizens' facility, Juan Luis Hospital, V.I. Department of Finance and areas surrounding Estates Strawberry, Barren Spot, Castle Coakley, Ginger Thomas and the WAPA business office.
"The installation of the meter will assist WAPA in addressing water-line loss," the release says. "WAPA appreciates the patience of its customers during this service-enhancement effort, and strongly urges motorists to proceed cautiously in the work area for the protection of the water-maintenance crews and the general public."
For more information, customers can call the St. Croix water division at 773-3775.
