Jan. 10, 2008 – The Kilnworks Pottery & Art Gallery is hosting a sale of local artist Diane Kreiner's watercolor paintings. She has been capturing local life in her original oil and watercolor paintings for over 35 years. This collection is entitled "Island Scenes Revisited."
According to Peggy Seiwert, founder of The Kilnworks, this is a unique exhibition not just because of the beauty of the paintings but also because these paintings have been kept in the artists personal collection until now.
Several depict the Old Market Square complete with busy shoppers and vendors, while others are street scenes with well known historic landmarks such as Hotel 1829 and Grand Hotel.
"Seventy five percent of my work is people," Kreiner said. "I really enjoy drawing and painting people, normal people."
These sale paintings have been substantially discounted. The sale will run through Valentines Day, Feb. 14. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, and from noon to 4 p.m., on Sunday. It is located on Route 38, Emile "Milo" Francis Drive, just east of the turn-off to Coral World.
