Dec. 16, 2007 – The St. Croix Metric-Mile Road is run on a flat course that has only one turn of 90 degrees at St. John's Episcopal Church in Estate Upper Love. The 1500-meter race is dominated by children.
Semour Walters of the St. Croix Educational Complex High School continued his success in cross country by winning the Saturday afternoon race with a time of 4 minutes and 18 seconds, putting him in the position as favorite for the upcoming 3 Kings Mile, traditionally run at the start of the 3 Kings Festival Parade. Duwayne Smith was the second place male with a time of 4:33, and David Walters was third in 4:38. Ninfa Barnard of the St. Croix Track Club also continued her successful record in cross country. The ECHS student took first place for females with a time of 5:03. Her challenge was early on in the race as Sherma Aurelein, second in 5:12, led the way for three-quarters of the race; Mackiesh Taylor of ECHS was the third place female in 6:06.
Malique Smith of the St. Croix Track Club was the first male under 13-years-old with a time of 5:28; Jelani Prince of Eulalie Rivera Elementary School was second in 6:01; Casey Bergstrom was third in 6:10. Karen Dasent of the Junior Baracudas Track Club was the first female in 6:23; Jasmine Willocks of SCTC was second in 6:29; Yoina Rosa was third in 7:59.
Adriel Sanes of Church of God Holiness School was the first male under 10-years-old in 6:05; Rodney Griffin of the SCTC was second in 6:56; D'Quan Daniel of the Hounds and Foxes Track Club was third in 7:07
Mikaela Smith of the SCTC was the first female under 10-years-old in 6:37; Annika Benders of the SCTC was second in 7:56; Dominique Willocks of SCTC was third in 8:33
