Oct. 22, 2007 — Taste your way through offerings from more than 20 St. John restaurants and caterers at the seventh annual Flavors of St. John.
Sponsored by the Rotary Club of St. John, it will take place Nov. 17 at the Westin Resort and Villas beachfront. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., with main dishes and desserts following from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. The evening will wrap up with music by In the Sand and dancing.
"It's an exciting showcase of foods from St. John restaurants," said Rotary President Joan Bermingham.
Tickets run $100 per person and are available at Connections, Kaleidoscope Video stores and from Rotary members. Dress is island fancy cocktail attire.
The money raised at the event goes to fund a $15,500 four-year college scholarship awarded every year to a high school senior from St. John, Bermingham said. The money is also funding the purchase of new boats for the St. John Kids and the Sea program, as well as other charitable endeavors.
All the main-course foods come in appetizer portions so those attending can sample a wide variety of foods, Bermingham said.
The following restaurants, caterers and businesses — as well as others that haven't made firm commitments — will serve food at Flavors of St. John: Zozo's Ristorante, Paradiso, Asolare, Chateau Bordeaux, The Balcony, Ocean Grill, Morgan's Mango, Stone Terrace, Fish Trap, Lime Inn, the Westin Resort, East-West Catering, Mathayon Private Chef and Kati Lady Events.
A wine tasting will be held by the restaurants at the Marketplace shopping center, West Indies Corp. and Premier Wines and Spirits. Additionally, wine will be available throughout the evening and is included in the admission price.
To make a reservation, call Bermingham at 776-6182 or email her.
