WAPA Announces Easter Week Customer Hours

April 2, 2007 – The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority will have different Easter Week customer service hours from April 2 through 9, according to a press release from WAPA.
All customer service offices throughout the territory will be open Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. All offices will be closed from Thursday, April 5 through Monday, April 9. For the convenience of WAPA customers, St. Croix and St. Thomas Offices will open one half hour earlier, 7:30 a.m., on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 10 and 11. St. John offices will reopen on Tuesday at 8 a.m.
St. Croix's water standpipe will operate Monday through Thursday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will close on Friday and next Monday. St. Thomas' standpipe will be open daily including Sunday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. On St. John, the standpipe will operate Monday through Thursday, Saturday, and next Monday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will close on Friday and Sunday.
Customers can make payments on line at www.viwapa.vi using a VISA, MASTERCARD, or AMERICAN EXPRESS credit card. Customers without a PIN number should request one prior to close of business on Wednesday, April 4. Payment can also be made in drop boxes at customer service offices, by mail or at participating banks.
Customers with electrical or water emergencies on St. Croix can call 773-2250 or 773-0150. On St. Thomas, St. John or Water Island, electrical emergencies should be reported to 774-1424, and water emergencies to 775-5873.
WAPA has experienced an increasing number of outages during weekends and holiday periods due to vehicular collision with utility poles. Motorists are urged to drive cautiously to avoid such accidents and the resulting inconvenience to WAPA customers.
