African Culture and Food Extravaganza is being shared to encourage support for African culture throughout the Virgin Islands and abroad on the eve of many global holidays of which Kwanzaa and African spiritual unity are a part. It will be held from 1 p.m. to midnight, on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 29 and 30, at Frederiksted Clock Tower, Buddhoe Park. The Church of Rastafari hosts the event and admission is free. Support African marketplace vendors, who will be selling natural foods, beverages, and arts & crafts.
Saturday Activities: 1 p.m. – opening, prayers, chanting and a message from the Church of Rastafari.
2 p.m. – Guest speakers will include Brother Rookie Jackson (Nation of Islam); Senator T. Positive Nelson; Sister Becky Russell Monbelly (Boys & Girls Club); Asheeba Samuel cultural storytelling.
