Nov. 17, 2008 — Final paving of the Lovers Lane intersection, Veterans Drive and Long Bay Road began Monday, and motorists should expect some delays.
"Flagmen will be present to assist with the movement of traffic through the work zone," said Public Works Commissioner Darryl A. Smalls, according to a news release. "Traffic at Mandela Circle, Centerline Road and Frenchman's Bay will not be affected during this phase of paving."
Two-way traffic is being maintained through the work zone for the duration of the project. Temporary markings will be applied to the newly resurfaced roadway once paving is complete.
Smalls apologized for the inconvenience the work may cause motorists, and urged drivers to use alternative routes as DPW makes road improvements.
