March 19, 2009 – Donald De Altier Pickard of Rose Gates died on March 13. He was 74 years old.
He is survived by his wife, former Senator Mary Ann Pickard; daughters: former Senator Norma De Altier Pickard-Samuel, Donna De Altier Pickard and Myrna De Altier Pickard; sons: Donald De Altier Pickard II and Ronald De Altier Pickard; daughter-in-law: Deborah James-Pickard; son-in-law: Gilbert L. Samuel; granddaughters: Diana, Damaris, Deja and Danae Pickard, Za-Marilyn and Za Lysha Davis, Tiniqua Knowles, Confé and Alexandra Burgos; grandsons: Wilbur H. Francis Jr., Iba-Kevin Popo, De-Shawn O. Samuel, Donald Pickard III, Ishmael D. Pickard Burgos and Rubio D. Pickard; and great-grandchild, Zaneé B. Francis. He is also survived by aunt, Claudia Willocks; uncle, Wilfred Alfredo Cruz; Lewis; other relatives and special friends: Laverne Shulterbrandt, Ike Bracy, Kenneth and Greg Schuster, Bert Nico, Dr. Olaf Hendricks, Louis Willis, Roy Rodgers, Reuben Roebuck, Dr. Arakere Prasad, the Altier/Scanlan clan, Kaffi Miller, Josephine Ruiz, Sen. Michael Thurland and Ralphael Pieters, Wilmot Dennis, Bobby Hendricks and family; as well as many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
The family request that those in attendance wear bright colors.
A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. and a funeral service at 11 a.m., on Monday, March 23, at St. John's Episcopal Church. Interment follows at Christiansted Cemetery.
