St. George Village Botanical Garden's Grow and Learn program presents "Preparing for Tropical Storms" from 3-5 p.m., Friday, June 19. June is the beginning of hurricane season on St. Croix, and it is important to be prepared. Errol Chichester, the deputy commissioner of Agriculture, will be on hand to discuss the potential effects of adverse weather on trees and palms. He will also offer tips and guidance on how to best prepare landscapes for hurricane season right now and throughout the year.
The Grow and Learn series of hands-on workshops are held on the third Friday of each month in the Pavilion at the Bodine Visitors' Center. There is a $5 fee for members or $15 for non-members, call to register at 692-2874.
