June 24, 2009 — The Virgin Islands Police Department Internal Affairs Bureau is presently investigating two separate and unrelated cases involving two police officers in the St. Croix district.
St. Croix Deputy Chief Chris Howell announced the investigations Wednesday.
The first is a domestic violence case between a police officer and his minor daughter. The second case is a domestic dispute between a police officer and his wife.
Both cases are being investigated to determine the merits of the charges. The attorney general’s office has been advised and will offer a prosecutorial opinion, Deputy Chief Howell said.
Both officers have been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the results of the investigation.
